The 2024-25 summer transfer window closed on Tuesday, January 28 with many players moving clubs.

That does not mean clubs are inactive in the transfer market as they begin preparations to nab their targets in the upcoming off-season window which opens in July 2025.

Here, GOAL brings you the latest transfer rumours and news from the PSL and South African players, managers, and coaches plying their trade beyond our borders as teams turn their attention to future targets in the winter transfer wind.

Gavin Hunt, SuperSport United
  • SuperSport part ways with veteran coach
  • According to a report in Sunday World Gavin Hunt has been fired by SuperSport United for poor performance. The news comes as the club sit 15th in the table with just 21 points from 21 league matches.
  • The publication quotes an anonymous source within the club who stated, “The club has unfortunately decided to relieve the coach of his duties today (Thursday)."
  • “Results have not been forthcoming, and the coach has been under pressure for some time. The team has now ended up in the relegation zone and this is something that SuperSport is not familiar with.
  • “There was a meeting this morning (Thursday) and it was decided that Hunt parts ways with the club so that they can find someone who can rescue and take the club forward.”
Kaitano Tembo, Sekhukhune United, October 2022
  • Tembo back at Sekhukhune
  • Sekhukhune United are set to appoint former SuperSport United coach as their reserve team tactician.
  • According to iDiski Times, the Zimbabwean is set to take over from Lizo Mjempu owing to recent struggles.
Royal AM
  • SuperSport to acquire Royal AM goalkeeper?
  • SuperSport United have expressed interest in the experienced goalkeeper Zakahle Ngcobo from Royal AM, GOAL has been reliably informed.
  • With Thwihli Thwahla having been put up for sale by the South African Revenue Service's curator, several players may seek new opportunities as the season draws to a close.
  • This publication has been led to believe that Ngcobo might be heading to Matsatsantsa, as the club aims to enhance its goalkeeping department.
  • It is understood the Tshwane outfit have already made contact with the 31-year-old shot-stopper's representatives, with the discussions ongoing.
